Healthcare Information Management and Technology

Participants in class concentrating on lectureEffective use of healthcare data and information technology is essential to improving productivity and service quality. This course develops the knowledge and skills needed to oversee the development and implementation of a successful healthcare information system. Participants learn to:

  • effectively manage complex healthcare data systems
  • critically evaluate new information technologies
  • successfully implement a healthcare IT project
  • deal with the key issues of governance, security and patient privacy

This course is eligible for 4 hours of graduate academic credit and up to 32 hours of Category 1 CME credit toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award.
