Healthcare Policy and Regulation — Washington, DC
The US healthcare system is being dramatically re-shaped by Congress and the regulatory bureaucracy. This course meets in Washington, DC, where participants meet with key legislators, lobbyists, agency administrators and media representatives to:
- discuss the outlook for Congressional healthcare legislation
- learn how the administrative agencies translate legislation into statutory law
- discuss regulatory enforcement with the Federal Trade Commission and Office of Inspector General
- explore the role of lobbyists and the media in shaping public opinion on health policy issues
This course is eligible for 4 hours of graduate academic credit.
