The Alliance graduate business program for physicians builds powerful business and leadership skills for physicians who have moved – or are preparing to move – into a leadership role in their healthcare organization. It provides them with practical knowledge of:

  • negotiation and conflict management
  • service quality improvement
  • clinical cost and financial management
  • healthcare information systems
  • strategic management
  • coaching as a leadership style
  • healthcare policy and regulation

A flexible format minimizes time away from clinical practice. Focused 4-day classes — Saturday through Tuesday — meet every other month. Classes may be started at any time and taken in any order.

The curriculum is centered around real-life healthcare problems and cases. Classes are jointly taught by senior business and medical school faculty in an interactive setting that encourages sharing and collaboration. Physicians and faculty work together in small teams to examine facts, evaluate alternatives and develop workable solutions.

The program is fully accredited by the ACCME for Continuing Medical Education to offer Category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award and by the AACSB, the nation’s premiere accrediting organization for graduate programs in business.

The program was ranked No. 29 nationwide among top business graduate schools for physician-executives by Modern Healthcare magazine (2011).
